Site Dossier
How this works
This tool reads the 60 most recent articles on the site you entered, then reports six things.
What it publishes. Every recent article is sorted into a topic, so you see what the site covers rather than what it claims to cover.
Your niche inside it. How many of those articles are in your niche, and when the most recent one was published.
Who writes here. How many of the authors have written exactly one article. A publication has writers. A contributor section has a long list of names that appear once.
Where it links out to. Every commercial link inside those articles, grouped by destination. Navigation and footer links are removed first.
What the anchor text looks like. A sample of the real anchors, exactly as written. Nothing interpreted.
What changed recently. Whether the site's subject matter has shifted in the last few months, which usually means it changed hands or opened its doors.
What this does not check
This tool does not report Domain Authority, Domain Rating or traffic estimates. Every other free tool shows those, and they do not tell you whether a site is right for you.
It does not check whether pages are indexed in Google. That needs paid access, so rather than guess, it says nothing.
It reads 60 recent articles, which shows you the site's current direction, not its entire history.
It does not check backlinks or referring domains.
It does not look up IP addresses, WHOIS or DNS records. Those are a different kind of tool and there are good ones for that.
It also does not find sites for you. If you do not have candidates yet, start with the searches in sites that accept guest posts.
Frequently asked questions
Is the tool free?
Yes. There is no charge, no trial and no card. You do not need an account.
Do I have to sign up?
No. Paste a site, choose your niche and run the check. The email field is optional, and it sends you that one report only.
How many articles does it read?
Up to the 60 most recent articles. If the site has fewer than that, it reads all of them. Every report states the exact number it read and the date it read them.
Why does it not show Domain Authority, DR or traffic estimates?
Those are third party scores that estimate a site’s strength. They do not tell you what the site publishes, who writes there or where it links out to. This tool reports what is actually on the site so you can judge relevance yourself.
How fresh is the data?
Each report shows the date the articles were read. Results are cached for 30 days, and you can press Refresh to run the check again.
Can I share the report?
Yes. Every report has its own link that opens for anyone, with no sign in. There is also a Copy as image option for sharing a screenshot.
What does the tool not check?
It does not check whether the site is indexed by Google, it does not score writing quality, and it does not look at the site’s full history, only its recent articles.
What do you store?
Reports are saved so the link keeps working and the same site does not have to be crawled again. Details are in the privacy policy.
The thinking behind these checks is written up here: How to vet guest post sites before you pay.
If you would rather hand this over, that is what the guest post campaigns are.
