Editorial placements and guest posts
An article published under your brand, in a publication with real readers, written by someone who has read enough submissions to know what gets quoted.
What makes this different from buying a placement
I hold editor access at ILLUMINATION and four other Medium publications. That is not something that can be purchased. It comes from working with a publication over time.
Practically, it means two things. Your article goes into a queue I can see rather than disappearing into a submissions inbox. And if something in it needs fixing, you hear that from me in a day rather than waiting three weeks for a rejection with no explanation.
For placements outside those five publications, I select sites the same way I would judge a submission. Does the site cover this topic genuinely. Does it have readers rather than a score. And does the specific page my client's link will sit on have any inbound links of its own.
That last check removes more sites than the other two combined.
What you get
- An article written for the publication's readers, not assembled from other pages
- Publication in a named publication, agreed before we start
- The draft, before anyone else sees it
- The live link, and a note on what the placement realistically does
What I will tell you before you pay
Every external link in a Medium story carries a nofollow attribute. Every publication. This is not a limitation of my access, it is how Medium works.
So a Medium placement is not a link-equity purchase. It is a mention on a page that gets read, indexed and quoted, in front of a readership that already exists. Worth having, for reasons that have nothing to do with the rel attribute.
If what you need is do-follow links from your own industry's sites, say so at the start and I will price that instead. Sometimes the answer is that you do not need either, and I will say that too.
What this costs
From $150 per article. The price depends on the publication, the research required and whether the piece needs the product to be used before it is written.
I need to know the client, the niche and the target URL before quoting. A number without those is a guess.
